In January 2019 we launched the campaign #LetsGetMitchWalking to help raise £56,000 towards revolutionary Epidural Stimulation treatment for Mitch Chalmers.

Mitch was left paralysed from the waist down following a motocross accident in 2014 at the age of 22.

Through sheer determination he has since re-trained and pursued his dream of becoming a hairdresser and now with the aid of a stand up wheelchair Mitch works full time as a stylist at James Christopher Hairdressing in Midsomer Norton.

To date Epidural Stimulation is the most advance treatment for Spinal Cord Injuries available.
Unique Access Medical have provided treatment to patients with Spinal Cord Injuries from all over the world, all of whom have regained voluntary movements after undergoing the Epidural Stimulation Procedure.

Akito Scissors are planning a number of fund raising events for 2019 and would welcome fellow hairdressers and barbers to get involved. Whether you share to raise awareness with friends and family, hold an in salon event, donate, or have a great ambition to skydive!
All efforts to raise awareness and funds would be very much appreciated.
